Graham Haslam 125 Beta put in a scintillating performance to take the Expert class win and premiere award 'The James Challenge Trophy' with a loss of 6.

Folly Farm Steeple Hill Corner Beckley was the venue where 4 four laps of ten testing sections were ridden we had steep climbs cambered roots muddy slots and sweeping sandy banks with the rare South Midland Rocky stream ( dried out ) thrown in for good measure.

This was an Open event and included a round of the Meteor Group Championship Series.

Section 3 was tough a turn in a ditch dropping into a marshy gully then half way down an awkward large root to one side had to be traversed but with various tactics the flick and pin-it method was the only way with Graham managing a superb clean on his final lap.

Mark George made short work of the 50/50 route with a loss of 18 on the immaculate TRS and with section five cleaned four times there was no way back for his opponents today.

A slight gradient over roots with a sharp left-hand turn over a ditch then a right handed blast up a steep bank before a full-lock left hander to the end cards.

The yellow middle route looked to be a close run affair with James Carter 300 Beta taking the overall win on 5 marks lost.

The best Novice on this route takes the Thistle Anderson Cup and this accolade went to Jim Morris with a tally of 30.

Jim going well at section nine a 60 yard sandy climb with an outcrop of roots halfway up the hazard.

Paul Meader aced the Twinshock on his trusty 250 Bultaco.

The ever popular white easy course had an overall winner and this was Mark Davidson 200 Fantic who cleaned the Trial in style.

A superb ride by Martin Howlett Twinshock Yamaha ran out the best sportsman on 1 mark lost whilst the Brit bike brigade had a tye for for first place 1 mark apiece for Wayne Hutton Triumph Cub and Neil Osman BSA C15.

Many thanks to all the observers.
